What I want to demonstrate here is the lawn mowers and the different types; the mulching, the four wheeled rotary and the rear roller and why you might want to choose one against the other.
All of these are ALKO machines but of course you can get the Honda, Mountfield and Hayter. We have chosen ALKO to show you here because ALKO are one of the up-and-coming brands. They are European made and have the latest technology and the latest designs* and the features are nicely demonstrated on all of these. Most of these machines are new models for this year and they are high quality machines.
Mulching
Starting off with the mulching mower. What mulching does is it negates the need to collect the grass. It keeps the grass under the cutting deck longer and cuts it that much finer; so instead of leaving large areas of dead grass on the lawn if you’re not collecting, what it does is it cuts the grass very fine the grass degrades very, very quickly so there is no need to collect the grass and makes the job very simple and consequently the machine itself is very, very simple. Height adjustment is at the front and you can alter the height by moving the wheels, same on the back. Briggs and Stratton engine so it’s dead simple to use. It’s got a primer on the front, pull start and an operator presence control to allow it to run. A simple straight forward machine but it gets rid of the hassle of collecting the grass. Mulching is becoming one of the features that is much more common to have and is a desirable feature really.
ALKO four Wheelers
Moving onto the other ALKO machines- the four wheeler. These two machines are from the high-wheeler range which you can get with both Briggs and Stratton or Honda engines. These are the two Honda engine machines; the Briggs and Stratton are slightly cheaper. This is the four in one, the larger twenty one inch cut size. The four in one means that you can either side discharge, rear discharge, collect or mulch so you really have all options covered and all the Four in One Honda machines come with a power drive as well so these are top of the range, quality machines with the Honda engine. Honda Engines are simple to use; turn the fuel on by the tap at the side of the engine, put the choke on. In rear collect mode you have the grass box on the back and if you wish to mulch it’s very simple. Take the grass box off put the mulch plug in and you’re away. To switch to side discharge leave the mulch plug in and attach the side shoot. It will cut the grass and spit the grass out of the side. It’s ideal for using along verges or along your driveway where the grass might be a bit longer than normal and you just want to cut the grass and discharge in under a hedge. So it couldn’t be simpler. If you want to put it back into rear collect mode, remove the side shoot and put the flap down, remove the mulch plug and re-attach the grass box. Height adjustment couldn’t be simpler; a leaver lets you control the height that you want. These machines are becoming incredibly popular due to their versatility. Mulching, Side and rear discharge and rear collect. A great Honda engine and large wheels making transportation incredibly easy. The Three in One is similar although it doesn’t have side discharge. Slightly smaller deck but other than that it is identical to the Four in One.
Rear Roller
Finally the rear roller. Where you want a rear roller is if you want the best finish to your lawn with stripes in your lawn. You won’t get stripes in your lawn without the rear roller it’s also very useful for going up to the borders of beds, because of the rear roller you won’t find the mower going into them. This machine again has the Honda engine and height adjustment couldn’t be simpler; just squeeze the leaver and lift it up and down to where you want. A really nice easy to control machine. It’s got a three speed control on the leaver and it’s got the power drive as well; so a high quality machine from the ALKO range.
So in short you have the mulching which is your simple straight forward grass cutting machine without the hassle of collecting the grass; the four wheeled rotary mowers with maximum versatility and you have the rear roller for your high quality finish.
