The Carbon Steel Border fork with ash handle is epoxy coated carbon steel, fully hardened and tempered. It has an ash handle with clear lacquered finish and Y-dee handle.

Border Fork - Stainless Steel

This is the Joseph Bentley Stainless Steel Border Fork. As with all the products in this range it's not only a lovely hand tool, it's robust and hardwaring aswell.

This range of Traditional Garden Hand Tools is of the highest quality imaginable. The Solid Ash wooden handle of the Bentley tools is stained to a beautiful antiqued patina and is carefully finished to be wonderfully smooth to the touch. You will also notice that the handle grip is rebated. This is because all wooden hand tool handles will begin to dry out and in time may eventually shrink slightly. The addition of a simple rebate prevents the handle from twisting. The end of the wooden handle where it meets the stainless steel socket is rounded slightly and the rivet that keeps the handle fixed in place is polished so smooth as to be virtually invisible. Heavy guage stainless steel is used on the long handled tools (when stainless steel is the option). This not only increases the obvious strength of the tool, it also prevents "flex" of the head.
