| Description |
The French style formal gardens to the front of the building provide a tranquil retreat from the busy museum and there are bowls greens and tennis courts and a picnic area. The fountains in the parterre garden have recently been very nicely restored and the surrounding grounds have a fine collection of mature trees. Outdoor events take place throughout the year, including a plant and produce show, a brass band contest, a food and craft festival, open-air theatre, lantern parade and Victorian Christmas Market |
