| Description | Great Dixter was bought in 1910 by Nathaniel Lloyd, author of books on brickwork and topiary, and was restored by Edwin Lutyens in the manner of cottage gardens but on a grander scale. Nathaniel designed the framework of the garden and it has been planted with great flair by his son, Christopher Lloyd, gardening author. The grounds surround the house entirely so a circuit of the garden takes you right round the building. |
