On leads and in grounds only Child friendly? The house more so than the gardens. Description The house was restored by Charles Barry in the 1850s and he also designed the terraced garden. There is also a woodland garden with rhododendrons and azaleas. the grounds.  The Great Barn has been restored to be used as a performance space or for special occasions including wedding ceremonies. Events take place throughout the year from National Trust plant sales to Civil War re-enactments by the Sealed Knot
