DescriptionThe Abbey is surrounded by forty hectares of landscape garden and arboretum with more than a hundred outdoor sculptures. The garden provides year-round floral interest including hyacinth displays in the spring, herbaceous borders and dahlia gardens in the summer and magnificent autumn foliage. The watermill operates on the first and third Saturday of each month, subject to water levels. In the winter garden there are stunning colour displays of Dogwood, Willow and Whitewashed Bramble. Scent and colour are provided by winter flowering shrubs including Viburnum, Mahonia, Sarcococca and Chimonanthus and coloured tree barks and many different types of bulb and ground cover plants give added colour and interest at a time of year when most gardens are almost bereft of feature.
